Job summary

Marking Services, Inc. (MSI) seeks a Senior Testing Analyst to lead test planning, create manual and automated tests, and report results to ensure high quality releases. The role involves troubleshooting, collaborating with developers, and helping shape product and release plans.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in software testing, experience with automation tools such as Selenium/JUnit, and familiarity with Azure DevOps in a fast-paced environment. Minimal travel may be required.

Qualifications

The Senior Testing Analyst is responsible for leading and participating in test planning and quality review sessions, creating manual and automated tests, testing, and reporting on test results to ensure high quality product releases. They will also participate in troubleshooting, design, and analysis of new or existing application programs.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Test software and applications on Windows, Android, and iOS devices in an agile environment.
• Develops and maintains functional test cases, System & Integration Test cases, and other test artifacts like test data that are used throughout QA cycle.
• Responsible for writing and executing manual and audit scripts that validate the functionalities, code quality and data; testing to identify software problems and their causes.
• Responsible for establishing automated testing procedures as part of CI/CD Pipeline.
• Document and report on test results including any issues that were uncovered and evaluate results to determine defects.
• Work with Developers to design, code and execute unit tests, integration tests, and automated test scripts.
• Collaborates with team to gather / understand client specific information needed to create, modify, and execute test scripts.
• Create and assess estimates related to testing while planning.
• Perform system testing for new product execution and system production changes.
• Responsible for verifying that release notes are prepared and accurate.
• Provide recommendations and implement continuous improvement activities to consistently apply best practices.
• Work to become SME on specific primary products, to assist in product and release planning.
• Work with the team on project priorities and deliverable timelines.
• Work with the team personnel as necessary to diagnose and resolve system and networking issues.
• Function as a peer leader by mentoring other Testing Analyst on the team.
• All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field and/or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience with software documentation, requirements, architecture, and testing.
• 2+ years of experience with automated software testing.
• Experience with software testing automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or others; as well as with test management functions in TFS / Azure DevOps.
• Able to modify data by executing transactions to simulate a variety of scenarios.
• Able to diagnose and document software failures that are encountered during testing.
• Experience with unit tests in Visual Studio a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead, motivate, and develop a small team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate and manage expectations by providing transparent updates on project status, priorities, and potential impacts to deliverables while maintaining positive working relationships.
• Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and accomplish tasks.Excellent analytical skills, good problem-solving and critical thinking ability.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

There is a minimal risk of injury. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average over 40 hours a week. May require some additional hours as workload demands. Consistent and regular attendance required.
