Job summary

Cloudstaff Philippines Inc. seeks an experienced QA Leader to guide the software testing strategy and drive automation initiatives across the SDLC.

You will mentor teams, define test plans, and collaborate with cross-functional groups to ensure product quality and timely delivery. The role requires hands-on automation experience, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of Agile testing methodologies to reduce defects and improve processes.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
• Formulation and implementation of Software Testing strategies
• Schedule testing activities, and prepare test effort estimations.
• Collaborate with Software Development Team to develop effective strategies and test plans
• Check if the team has all the necessary resources to execute the testing activities.
• Mentor and coach team members and leaders enabling them to become more effective in providing quality output in a timely manner
• Selection of right test tools after interacting with the vendors. Integration of testing and development activities.
• Design and build automation framework and scripts
• Write documentation for manual and automated processes including test plans, test procedures, and test cases
• Define and perform the Test strategies and associated scripts for the verification and validation of the application and ensuring that it meets all defined business requirements and associated functionality
• Choose the right set of tools to help the testing
• Improve software quality and reduced defects via introduction of defect and requirements management tools, requirements gathering and testing best practices, root cause analysis, UML diagrams and via creation of standardized tools, processes and methodologies
• Lead process improvement projects to reduce test times, integrate new tools and manage key tasks
• Manage Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) to build team and enhance PLC (Product Life-cycle) & SDLC (Software Development Life-cycle) adherence
• Mitigate QA risks including escalation to senior management, and collaborated with cross-functional teams to ensure testing quality
• Introduce Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to quality in employee performance plans
• Plan and coordinate the resources needed to implement new test strategies (Agile Scrum, Sanity Suite Regression, etc.), resulting in the development of best practice models
• Perform resource and project trade off analysis to meet schedule, language, product life-cycle (PLC)/Software Dev Life-cycle (SDLC) and QA requirements.
• Develop plans for individual career plans including performance reviews, succession planning, hiring, and training
• Gather and Review Business Requirement Documents and Technical Specification and analyze them through a tester/user's point of view
• Analyze data of performance testing results.
• Supervise and coach junior testers
• Perform extra task such as business analysis and suggests and implements improvements on the software testing process in line with the software development process practiced
• Determine and advise which tests should be automated at which layer
• Provide management with test metrics, reports, and schedules, estimations
• Maintain requirements and create Traceability between Requirements and Test Cases.

Qualifications and Requirements

Ideally, you will have a Relevant Tertiary degree, certification, or qualification, but previous work experience and demonstrated capability can be substituted.

Knowledge & Skills Required

• 5+ yrs experience working in a leadership role in Software Testing including the creation of Test Plans, Test Estimation and Execution.
• Solid experience in Manual Testing such as functional, integration, regression testing.
• At least 3 years of solid experience in designing and building automation frameworks and scripts.
• Thorough understanding of agile best practices
• Strong knowledge of Software Test processes, risk mitigation, leadership roles dealing with multiple teams
• Experience in product/feature demo to stakeholders and target users.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Great sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
• Up-to-date knowledge of software test design and testing methodologies.
• Working knowledge of test techniques and compatibility with various software programs.
• In-depth knowledge of test automation and testing tools preferably Playwright, WebDriver IO, Xray, Jira, or similar tools
• Knowledge of API testing tools that require strong coding skills to create tests
• Strong background in JavaScript/TypeScript and other relevant programming languages used in automation scripting
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Good organisational skills and detail-oriented mindset.
