Job summary

Aurora Energy Research Limited is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Technical Lead to join our Gurugram hub and collaborate with Oxford and the broader engineering org. You will shape architecture, implement complex software, and drive high‑quality delivery across microservices and frontends.

Based in Gurugram, you will lead meaningful pieces of work, contribute to robust testing and CI/CD practices, and mentor peers while embracing AI‑assisted engineering to improve outcomes and speed.

Qualifications

• Substantial commercial experience developing complex software systems using Node/TypeScript/ExpressJS/React.
• Track record delivering high‑quality, maintainable software in production environments.
• Strong fundamentals: system design, abstractions, testing and code quality.
• Experience leading technical work from inception to completion as a senior contributor.
• Excellent problem‑solving and collaboration across distributed teams Gurugram/Oxford.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and reliable delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high‑quality software as part of a growing Gurugram hub.
• Take ownership of technical delivery from shaping solutions through testing, release and support.
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering across Gurugram and Oxford to solve complex problems.
• Contribute to architecture, abstractions, testing practices and operational excellence.
• Use AI‑assisted tools to improve productivity while maintaining quality and craftsmanship.
• Support other engineers through collaboration and technical guidance without line management.
