Job summary

CHAMP Cargosystems S.A. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our innovation team in the Philippines. The role involves building backend services with Java/Spring Boot, REST APIs, and database integrations, while collaborating with other engineers to deliver scalable cargo management solutions.

You will work in an interdisciplinary team, participate in code reviews, unit testing, and deployment processes, and stay current with new technologies to improve performance and maintainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Equivalent.
• Must have 5 years of experience in Java & object-oriented programming.
• Understanding the following framework or technology is a plus: Spring Boot, REST API, Angular.
• Experience with Git, SVN, Maven or similar tools.
• Experience in SCRUM practices is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform roles such as coder, code review, unit testing, and technical support.
• Support and guide junior developers to deliver quality work.
• Collaborate with software engineers to complete tasks.
• Translate specifications into code; enforce engineering standards.
• Champion clean code practices for reliable, maintainable solutions.
• Participate in project updates and resolve technical issues.
• Produce clean, efficient code and troubleshoot existing software.
• Participate in unit tests and support during implementation/migration.
