Job summary

Capgemini Philippines is hiring a Java backend engineer in Metro Manila to design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications. You will build robust microservices using Spring Boot, implement RESTful APIs, and collaborate with UI/UX, QA, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end solutions.

You will optimize performance, handle SQL/NoSQL data, and work with Kafka/RabbitMQ, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines. Strong Java, Spring, and testing skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Strong OOP and problem-solving skills.
• Extensive experience in Core Java (Java 8/11/17) and JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security).
• Proven experience in building Microservices Architecture.
• Proficient in RESTful API development.
• Experience with Hibernate, JPA, and other ORM frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with message queue systems such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Knowledge of Java Design Patterns with practical implementation experience.
• Experience in JUnit testing and development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications following best practices and coding standards
• Build and deploy robust, scalable microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Framework
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to support frontend and third-party applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (UI/UX, QA, DevOps) to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Implement secure and efficient backend services using Spring Security
• Optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve production defects
• Design and manage database schemas, queries, and data integration using SQL/NoSQL databases
• Implement asynchronous communication using messaging platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to standards
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests using JUnit to ensure application reliability
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments (if applicable)
• Maintain technical documentation for system architecture, APIs, and development processes
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies to improve development efficiency and product quality
