Job summary

Maya in the Philippines is seeking a senior software engineer with strong microservice experience using Java and Spring Boot. You will work closely with Product Owner to translate requirements into scalable software and drive architectural decisions.

You will respond to incidents, maintain code quality with automated tests, and continuously learn to support business growth and improve operational efficiency. This role is based in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Mastery in microservice development with Java, Spring Boot
• Mastery with at least one cloud technology (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Mastery with at least one messaging technology (AWS SNS, AWS SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Mastery with at least one database technology (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle)
• Mastery in software design patterns and principles
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodology

Responsibilities

• Refine user stories with Product Owner and Team, estimate work, and translate requirements into working software.
• Respond to incidents and bug reports and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Communicate progress, identify blockers and elevate risks.
• Ensure code quality by writing automated tests and ensuring code passes analysis and security tools.
• Acquire new skills and capabilities to support business growth and improve operational efficiency.
• Research and acquire new technology and products/platforms knowledge to support business direction and improve operational efficiency.
