Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd in the Philippines is seeking a senior automation engineer to design and scale AI-enabled workflows. You will translate business requests into actionable problems and independently assess feasibility, effort, and impact to prioritize projects.

Develop and maintain automation pipelines using n8n, Python, and SQL; ensure reliability, documentation, and handover readiness. Remote-friendly with strong collaboration in English and Thai.

Project Prioritization & Planning

• Receive and review incoming AI/automation project requests from the PM and business stakeholders.
• Understand business objectives and translate vague requests into clear, actionable problem statements.
• Independently assess feasibility, effort, and impact to prioritize which projects to build and in what sequence.
• Define the solution approach and select the right tools (n8n, Python scripts, AI APIs) for each use case.

Development & Execution

• Build and maintain automation workflows using n8n, Python scripts, and AI tools - covering use cases such as automated reporting, data-triggered email notifications, line message automation and workflow orchestration.
• Write SQL queries to extract, aggregate, and transform data from relational databases as inputs to automation pipelines.
• Ensure solutions are reliable, maintainable, and documented for handover or future iteration.

Stakeholder Communication & User Immersion

• Work directly with business users to gather requirements in their own language and understand pain points at the ground level.
• Accompany project launches end-to-end - from user discovery, through testing, to go-live - acting as the bridge between technical delivery and business adoption.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, simple language for non-technical stakeholders.

Continuous Learning & Innovation

• Stay current with AI tools, automation platforms, and best practices relevant to e-commerce operations.
• Propose new automation ideas based on observed business needs and emerging technology.
• Share knowledge and learnings with the team to uplift overall capability.

Requirements:

Must Have

• Workflow automation - hands-on with n8n, Make, Zapier or equivalent.
• Python scripting proficiency for data manipulation and automation tasks.
• SQL skills - comfortable writing queries to extract, aggregate, and join data from relational databases.
• Strong analytical thinking: able to break down a vague business problem into a structured, practical technical solution.
• Clear communication skills in Thai and English - able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-driven and independent: able to manage own deliverables with minimal supervision.
• Genuine growth mindset - motivated to learn new tools and approaches on an ongoing basis.
• 4+ years building and shipping software or data products in a business environment.
• Web application development - you have built and deployed working web apps that other people used. Rapid-prototype tools (Streamlit, Retool, Lovable) plus the ability to build a proper front-end/back-end application when the use case demands it.
• LLM and AI tooling in production - you have shipped something real using an AI API, not just used ChatGPT. Prompt design, structured outputs, and knowing where LLMs break.
• Cloud deployment (any major provider), Docker, CI/CD.

Nice to Have

• Experience in e-commerce, marketplace, or logistics environments.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) and prompt engineering basics.
• Background in engineering, computer science, statistics, or a related technical field.
