Job summary

Shopee is seeking a results-driven AI/Automation Specialist in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, to uncover high-impact opportunities across commercial and operations teams. You will translate complex business problems into technical solutions, build prototypes, and develop data products and internal tools using Python, SQL, and modern AI tools.

You’ll collaborate with data, product, BI, and engineering teams to scale successful solutions, analyze ROI, and pilot new workflows.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years experience in AI or Data Engineering
• Software / Full-Stack Engineering
• Applied AI / Automation
• Strong programming capability in Python and SQL
• Experience building applications, data pipelines, APIs, automation workflows, or ML/AI solutions
• Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, agentic workflows, RAG, APIs, or AI app development
• Comfortable prototyping and deploying working solutions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate business processes into technical solutions
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Support strategic and operational Special Projects requiring structured analysis and rapid execution

• Support selected strategic and operational Special Projects requiring structured analysis and rapid execution

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in one or more of the following:


• AI or Data Engineering


• Software / Full-Stack Engineering


• Applied AI / Automation


• Strong programming capability, ideally in Python and SQL


• Experience building applications, data pipelines, APIs, automation workflows, or machine learning / AI solutions


• Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, agentic workflows, RAG, APIs, or AI application development


• Comfortable rapidly prototyping and deploying working solutions rather than only producing requirements or recommendations


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand business processes and translate them into technical solutions


• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders


• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with ambiguous problems and changing priorities

Nice to Have

• Experience using tools such as Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI coding platforms


• Experience deploying AI applications or automation into production


• Experience with e-commerce, marketplaces, commercial operations, or large-scale operations


• Previous startup, consulting, special projects, or business transformation experience
