Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd in the Philippines is seeking an experienced AI and automation engineer to identify and deliver high-impact AI, data, and automation projects across commercial and operations teams.

You will translate business problems into technical requirements, prototype solutions with Python and SQL, build data products, and collaborate with data, product, BI, and engineering teams to scale successful initiatives and measure ROI.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in ML/DS, AI or data engineering, software/full-stack engineering.
• Experience building applications, data pipelines, APIs, automation workflows or ML/AI solutions.
• Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, agentic workflows, RAG, APIs, or AI application development.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business problems into technical solutions, system requirements, and implementation plans
• Build and prototype AI applications, automation workflows, data products, and internal tools
• Develop solutions using LLMs, APIs, Python, SQL, workflow automation, and modern AI development tools
• Work with data, product, BI, and engineering teams to integrate and scale successful solutions
• Analyze operational data and quantify business impact, productivity gains, and ROI
• Run pilots, iterate based on user feedback, and drive adoption across business teams
• Support selected strategic and operational Special Projects requiring structured analysis and rapid execution

Requirements:

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience in one or more of the following:
• Machine Learning / Data Science
• AI or Data Engineering
• Software / Full-Stack Engineering
• Applied AI / Automation
• Strong programming capability, ideally in Python and SQL
• Experience building applications, data pipelines, APIs, automation workflows, or machine learning / AI solutions
• Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, agentic workflows, RAG, APIs, or AI application development
• Comfortable rapidly prototyping and deploying working solutions rather than only producing requirements or recommendations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand business processes and translate them into technical solutions
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with ambiguous problems and changing priorities

Nice to Have

• Experience with JavaScript / TypeScript, React, cloud platforms, Git, Docker, n8n, Google Apps Script, or similar technologies
• Experience using tools such as Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI coding platforms
• Experience deploying AI applications or automation into production
• Experience with e-commerce, marketplaces, commercial operations, or large-scale operations
• Previous startup, consulting, special projects, or business transformation experience
