Job summary

Penbrothers is seeking an experienced Senior SEO Specialist to own and drive our organic search strategy and technical SEO program across our primary website and supporting properties.

The role requires strong technical SEO expertise, a strategic understanding of content architecture, search analytics, and emerging AI Engine Optimization practices. You will collaborate with Content, Brand, Marketing, and Website Optimization teams to build a scalable SEO roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, IT, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in SEO, with strong experience in technical SEO.
• Proven experience developing and executing SEO strategies and roadmaps.
• Strong understanding of website architecture, crawlability, indexability, metadata, internal linking, and structured content.
• Hands-on experience conducting technical SEO audits.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own a comprehensive SEO roadmap aligned with business and growth objectives.
• Establish and maintain SEO standards, frameworks, and best practices across the company’s web properties.
• Conduct comprehensive technical and on-page SEO audits and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Optimize website architecture, page hierarchy, metadata, headings, internal linking, and structured content.
• Identify technical and content-related opportunities to improve organic visibility and search performance.
• Monitor search trends, algorithm changes, and industry developments to identify opportunities and risks.
• Develop strategies to improve search visibility across traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered search platforms.
• Build topic clusters and internal linking frameworks to strengthen authority and topical relevance.
• Partner with Content and Brand teams to develop SEO-focused content strategies.
• Provide SEO recommendations for new and existing website content.
• Ensure content and website structures follow current SEO and AEO best practices.
• Audit website infrastructure and identify technical issues affecting crawlability, indexability, site structure, and search performance.
• Review SEO implications of changes to Webflow pages, microsites, calculators, and other digital properties.
• Establish SEO standards for new website pages, components, and web properties.
• Conduct backlink audits and identify low-quality or potentially harmful backlinks.
• Develop strategies to improve backlink quality and domain authority.
• Identify opportunities for high-quality link acquisition in partnership with relevant marketing teams.
• Monitor backlink profiles and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Establish baseline SEO performance across relevant web properties.
• Monitor performance using Google Search Console and other SEO analytics platforms.
• Analyze organic traffic, rankings, visibility, indexing, and other SEO performance indicators.
• Develop insights and recommendations based on SEO performance data.
• Provide regular reporting on SEO progress, opportunities, and areas requiring improvement.
• Support the development of an AI Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy.
• Identify opportunities to improve discoverability of content across AI-powered search and answer engines.
• Stay current with emerging AI search trends and their impact on organic visibility.
• Collaborate with content and website teams to apply emerging AEO best practices.
