Job summary

Verkada is seeking a Security Engineer who will scale security in the SDLC through automation, libraries, tools and frameworks. You will write code daily and own security initiatives across Verkada’s software stack.

The role requires 7+ years in software engineering focused on security, strong collaboration, and a passion for AI-driven security practices. Onsite five days/week is expected, with a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Masters or PhD in security is a bonus.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on security.
• You can just break things - interest in security weaknesses, attacks, and mitigations.
• Experience leveraging AI as you build.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to eliminate classes of vulnerabilities from Verkada.
• Build tools to help engineers do the right thing for security.
• Leverage AI to automate Verkada’s security engineering practices.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to define and pursue security goals.
• Collaborate with the CISO and security team to grow security programs.
• Share security experience via conferences, blogs, and open source.
