Job summary

National Grid Corporation is seeking a Security Manager responsible for planning and operationalizing a robust physical protection system across substations and related facilities. The role works under the Security Manager and adopts NGCP security plans and policies.

The position requires a candidate with aBachelor’s degree, security certifications, and active licenses (driver, LOTPF/PTCFOR, LESP). Experience in asset protection and liaison with law enforcement is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Licensed Driver status is required.
• Certified Security Professional certification is required.
• Registered Firearm Owner with LOTPF and Permit to Carry Firearm Outside Residence (PTCFOR) is required.
• License to Exercise Security Profession (LESP) is required.

Responsibilities

• Implements security plans, systems and designs to protect corporate assets.
• Ensures procedures for personnel access control, vehicle control, and materials protection.
• Gathers, collates and submits timely information on security requirements; submits recommendations for action.
• Conducts investigations on violations or breaches; submits findings and recommendations.
• Supervises contracted security agencies within the area of responsibility and evaluates performance.
• Supervises transmission line inspections by anti-pilferage operatives and reports deficiencies.
• Coordinates with law enforcement on security matters affecting the company.
• Coordinates with heads of support and technical facilities on security matters within area of responsibility.
