Job description

TheCybersecurity Analystwill helpsafeguardMeralco PowerGen Corporation (MGEN), its subsidiaries,and its power generation plants against evolving cyber threats. This rolesupports the implementation and operation of security measures across bothcorporate IT and operational technology (OT) environments, with a focus onmaintaining system confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Security Operations & Monitoring

• Monitorand analyze security events and alerts across IT and OT environments(including SCADA and IC systems).
• Assistin incident response activities: triage, investigation, containment, andreporting.
• Supportvulnerability scanning, patch management, and remediation tracking.

2. Security Tools & Technology

• Operateand maintain security solutions such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR, andOT-focused monitoring tools.
• Assistin reviewing secure configurations for IT/OT systems and new projects,including renewable energy facilities.
• Providesupport during penetration tests and risk assessments.

3. Compliance & Documentation

• Assistin ensuring compliance with Philippine regulations (ERC, DOE), dataprivacy laws, and international standards (ISO 27001, NIST).
• Helpprepare documentation for IT/OT cybersecurity audits.
• Contributeto regular cybersecurity reports for internal stakeholders.

4. Awareness & Training

• Supportcybersecurity awareness initiatives for employees through campaigns andlearning sessions.
• Providetechnical support to plant operations teams on OT and ICs security bestpractices.
• Workclosely with IT, OT, and plant operations teams to integrate securitymeasures into daily operations.
• Coordinatewith vendors, consultants, and managed service providers for technicalassistance.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’sdegree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology,or related field.
• Certificationssuch as CompTIA Security+, CEH, GICSP, or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• Around3 years of experience in IT or cybersecurity (experience inenergy/utilities or OT security a plus).
• Hands-onexperience in security monitoring, incident response, or vulnerabilitymanagement.

Technical Skills

• Knowledgeof network, endpoint, and application security fundamentals.
• Familiaritywith SIEM, EDR, IAM, and cloud security solutions.
• Understandingof common frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) advantageous.
• Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills.
• Goodcommunication and teamwork skills.
• Abilityto prioritize and perform well under pressure.
