Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Road Engineer to join our Roads Delivery team in a hybrid/PH-based role. You will deliver high quality design models, drawings, reports, and calculations across a range of projects, guided by established standards and best practices.

You will bring a strong civil engineering background with 10+ years in road/transport infrastructure, proficiency in 12d/OpenRoads, and experience working with international standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in road and transport infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of road design principles and international standards.
• Australian design experience is highly regarded.
• Experience leading project teams and mentoring juniors.

Responsibilities

• Perform road engineering duties including geometric road design and associated infrastructure.
• Develop and deliver road designs (intersections, roundabouts, car parks, active transport facilities).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior staff.
• Prepare technical reports and engage with clients and project teams.

We are looking for Senior Road Engineers to join our Roads Delivery team to help deliver quality design models, drawings, reports, and calculations for a wide range of projects. Working with established standards and procedures, you’ll bring sound judgement, technical curiosity and a collaborative mindset to help shape practical drainage solutions.

Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Perform road engineering duties, including but not limited to:


• Develop and deliver geometric road designs and associated infrastructure, including intersections, roundabouts, car parks, active transport facilities, earthworks, access roads, and other related infrastructure.


• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.


• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior engineers and designers.


• Perform engineering calculations, assessments and prepare technical reports.


• Engage effectively with clients and project teams.


• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, project requirements, and industry best practices.

What you will bring to the team:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.


• At least 10 years or more of experience in road and transport infrastructure engineering.


• Strong understanding of road design principles and international road design standards.


• Australian design experience is highly regarded.


• Other international civil engineering project experience will also be highly regarded.


• Experience in a consulting, engineering, or infrastructure delivery environment.


• Strong technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to work effectively with diverse clients and project teams.


• Experience with 12d and/or OpenRoads is highly regarded


• Experience delivering multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.


• Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead project teams.
