Job summary

GHD is seeking a skilled Materials Engineer to support marine and materials projects and manage small to medium-size engagements. The role will involve leading assessments, developing repair and protection strategies, and preparing technical deliverables. The candidate should have 5+ years in materials engineering and may hold a PRC license.

Hybrid work from Makati or Quezon City is offered. The position balances technical leadership with client engagement, proposal support, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in materials engineering, asset integrity, or related fields.
• Experience in inspection, assessment, and remediation of existing assets and structures.
• Experience with cathodic protection systems, protective coatings, or corrosion mitigation is advantageous.

We are looking for skilled and experienced Materials Engineer to support the business in delivering marine and materials engineering projects and managing small to medium-size projects within the business group.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver materials engineering assessments, including condition, durability, structural, residual life, and asset integrity assessments.
• Develop remediation, repair, life extension, cathodic protection, and protective coating solutions for existing assets and structures.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, design documentation, and client deliverables.
• Analyze and interpret materials, inspection, testing, and structural performance data.
• Undertake site inspections, investigations, and condition assessments to support project delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated engineering solutions.
• Support business development activities through proposals, client engagement, and technical presentations.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and best practices in materials engineering and asset management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil and/or materials engineering or other related discipline, Master’s degree in materials engineering is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PRC licensed) preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in materials engineering, asset integrity, durability engineering, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience in the inspection, assessment, and remediation of existing assets and structures is highly desirable.
• Experience conducting condition, durability, structural, and residual life assessments.
• Experience developing materials specifications and repair strategies to address structural and durability requirements.
• Experience with cathodic protection systems, protective coatings, or corrosion mitigation solutions is advantageous.
• Proven project management capability, including managing multiple projects and competing priorities.

This job offer can be based either in Makati or Quezon City office, depending on your home base / location.
