Job summary

Coface in Mexico City is seeking a Risk Underwriter to join the Mexico Risk Underwriting team. You will perform financial analysis, approve credit limits, monitor portfolios, and explain decisions to policyholders.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in financial analysis, strong communication, and a proactive, organized approach. Hybrid work with onsite and remote days is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with finance focus or related field.
• English: upper-intermediate level or higher.
• Minimum 3 years in financial analysis or credit underwriting.
• Experience in credit insurance is a plus.
• Organized, methodical and proactive work style.

Responsibilities

• Realize counterpart’s financial analysis using infoline and sector knowledge.
• Approve credit limits with delegation and policy requirements.
• Monitor the portfolio proactively to mitigate losses.
• Inform and explain credit decisions to policyholders.
• Perform sectoral and client portfolio analysis.
• Support testing and development of risk underwriting tools.
• Ensure compliance with Coface rules and regulators.
• Support the Commercial Team to retain and develop clients.

RISK UNDERWRITER

THE JOB

We are looking for a Risk Underwriter to join our team. s a member of the Mexico Risk Underwriting team you will be expected to perform the following:

• Realize counterpart’s financial analysis based on information provided by our infoline and on your sectorial and macroeconomic knowledge.


• Approve credit limits with your individual delegation taking into account policies characteristics.


• Closely and proactively monitor the portfolio in order to mitigate losses.


• Inform and explain credit decisions to policyholders.


• Establish statistics on client portfolios, conduct sectoral analysis.


• Provide support for testing and development of risk underwriting tools.


• Ensure compliance with the rules and procedures established by Coface and external regulators.


• Support the Commercial Team to retain existing business and develop new client relationships.

The individual in this position is expected to develop relationships with credit managers and Brokers and to liaise with Commercial, Information, Organization and Claims employees as needed to achieve regional and group objectives. You may represent the company in different occasions: visit clients, prospects, brokers, participate to industry events, conferences.

THE CANDIDATE

Should have strong relationship and communication skills in addition to a good team spirit. To be considered you must possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or any other discipline with financial, economical, insurance focus. Four-year College degree in Finance and MBA is preferred.


• Language: English upper-intermediate


• Minimum 3 years in a financial analysis role. Working knowledge of credit insurance industry is a plus.


• Ability to gather and analyze information from various external/internal sources: financial statements, sector and country economic reports, other departments’ data, etc.


• We are looking for candidates who are organized, methodical, and orderly in their work, results-oriented, with a proactive attitude.


• The candidate will join the Risk team, reporting to the Credit Risk Manager.

Location in Mexico City Hybrid 2 days onsite and 3 days remote
