Job summary

Optum Philippines is hiring a Software Quality Assurance/Engineering professional to own feature quality from requirements to production.

You will design and execute manual and automated tests, create detailed test plans, and collaborate with developers to define acceptance criteria. The role emphasizes AI-assisted testing, API validation, and contribution to CI/CD pipelines for reliable releases.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering.
• Experience with manual testing methodologies and test design techniques.
• Experience with AI-assisted testing tools and AI-enabled quality practices.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman, Wireshark or similar.
• Understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, web technologies, and client-server architectures.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and source control systems (Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub).
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills, plus strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Own quality for features and initiatives from requirements through production deployment.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test suites.
• Create test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on requirements.
• Partner with developers to define acceptance criteria and testability.
• Validate functionality, integration, regression, usability, performance, accessibility, and security.
• Participate in all phases of the SDLC, promoting shift-left quality practices.
• Leverage AI-powered testing tools to accelerate test creation and coverage analysis.
• Perform API, database, and end-to-end workflow validation.
• Analyze defects and collaborate on root-cause analysis with engineering teams.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and quality gates for reliable releases.
• Support validation for regulated healthcare and medical device software.
• Monitor production quality metrics and contribute to improvements.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and industry regulations.
