Job summary

PeopleLogic seeks an experienced Senior Python Backend Engineer in Manila to design, build, and maintain asynchronous backend services using Python and FastAPI. You will implement robust REST APIs, validate data with Pydantic, and optimize PostgreSQL interactions with SQLAlchemy 2.0-style mappings.

You will also manage database migrations with Liquibase, integrate with PyArrow Flight, Dremio, and Snowflake, and participate in containerized deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

Qualifications

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Backend Engineer with strong expertise in asynchronous application development, REST API design, database integration, and backend testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable services using FastAPI, working with PostgreSQL and modern ORM patterns, and managing database migrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain asynchronous backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Build and maintain request and response validation using Pydantic models.
• Develop and optimize database interactions using PostgreSQL and modern SQLAlchemy 2.0-style ORM patterns.
• Design REST APIs with appropriate error handling and structured responses.
• Manage database schema changes using Liquibase XML changesets and Maven-based migration workflows.
• Integrate with Dremio through PyArrow Flight and work with Snowflake databases.
• Develop and maintain automated tests using pytest and mocking techniques with unittest.mock.
• Collaborate with development and deployment teams to support containerized applications.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm for application deployment and orchestration.

Required Technical Skills
