Job summary

Advanced Energy is seeking a Product Engineer to bridge design engineering and manufacturing operations, ensuring PSU products meet performance, quality, and delivery standards from development through production. The role reports to the Product Engineering Manager.

The successful candidate will maintain and enhance PSU designs, conduct thorough characterization, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement design improvements while supporting test procedures and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in power electronics including converter topologies, AC/DC circuitry, and magnetic component design.
• Proven track record in hardware engineering or related technical discipline.
• Hands-on experience in power supply design, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Proficient with lab/testing equipment: oscilloscope, power supplies, multimeters, analyzers.
• Experience in PCB design, layout, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory compliance for power supply design/testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance performance of existing PSU designs.
• Conduct PSU characterization and validation under varying conditions.
• Calibrate and support test engineering for procedures.
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis of failures.
• Collaborate with design engineers to implement improvements.
• Perform hardware testing and write test reports.
• Evaluate alternative components and manage change requests.
• Provide technical guidance to manufacturing, quality, sales and customers.
