Job summary

Teradyne’s PCB Design Engineering team seeks a Senior PCB Design Engineer to lead the development of PCB designs for multiple products. You will work across concept through manufacturing release with cross‑functional teams in a dynamic multi-site environment.

You will create schematics, footprints, and routing rules using Cadence Allegro and OrCAD Capture, perform design verifications, and prepare documentation for manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in PCB layout and automated test systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, and Cadence PCB design tools.
• Extensive hands-on experience using Cadence Allegro tools, including Allegro PCB Editor (17.2, 23.1) and OrCAD Capture.
• Experience with Gerber and ODB++ verification and review tools for pre-fabrication checks (ViewMate, Valor).
• Strong experience with high-speed PCB design, including: controlled impedance routing, differential pairs, timing, and stack-up.

Responsibilities

• Create schematics based on customer-defined and system-level specifications.
• Develop component symbols and PCB footprints.
• Set up electrical, physical, and DFM design rules in Constraint Manager.
• Perform routing assessments and project feasibility studies.
• Define assembly specifications and documentation.
• Create assembly and test packages for manufacturing.
• Execute PCB design activities from data entry through fabrication file generation.
• Generate cost estimates to enable marketing quotations.
• Attend product development and kickoff meetings for new launches.
• Use Teamcenter to manage part numbers, BOMs, ECNs, and related data.
• Perform QA inspections on final design data and collaborate with SI/PI, DFT, DFA, and DFM teams.
• Occasional travel for training, meetings, or validation; take ownership of layout quality and deliverables.

Opportunity Overview

The Teradyne NBU PCB Design Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and technically driven Senior PCB Design Engineer to focus on the development of PCB designs for products within the division. This role operates in a dynamic and collaborative multi‑site development environment, working closely with cross‑functional engineering teams from concept through manufacturing release.

Role Overview and Duties:

• Create schematics based on customer‑defined and system‑level specifications
• Develop component logical symbols and PCB footprints
• Set up Constraint Manager electrical, physical, and DFM design rules
• Perform routing assessments and project feasibility studies
• Define assembly specifications and documentation
• Create assembly and test packages for manufacturing

Execute complete PCB design activities from data entry through fabrication file generation

Generate cost estimates to enable marketing quotations

• Attend product development meetings and critical kick‑off meetings for initial product launches
• Use Teamcenter to generate and manage:
  • Part numbers
  • Bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
• Perform QA inspections on final design data to ensure completeness and quality
• Work closely with Simulation engineers to meet SI and PI requirements
• Work closely with DFT engineers to resolve test access issues
• Work closely with DFA engineers to resolve assembly issues prior to or during build
• Work closely with DFM engineers to identify and resolve PCB fabrication process concerns
• Occasional travel may be required for training, off‑site meetings, or product validation
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management
