Job summary

Pax Asia Information Corporation is seeking an experienced Network Engineer in the Philippines to design, implement, and maintain a large-scale enterprise network. You will manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks, ensuring high reliability and security across LAN/WAN and cloud connectivity.

The role requires 5+ years in network engineering, strong Cisco expertise, and hands-on experience with BGP/OSPF/EIGRP, SD-WAN, and cloud networking across GCP/AWS/Tencent Cloud.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, network administration, or a similar role.
• Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
• Hands-on knowledge of LAN, WAN, VLAN, VPN, MPLS/IPLC, SD-WAN, and Internet connectivity.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, subnetting, routing, and switching.
• Experience with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and static routing.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls and network security technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud networking, preferably with GCP, AWS, or Tencent Cloud.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, particularly in resolving complex network and connectivity issues.
• Experience with network monitoring and performance management tools.
• Familiarity with ITIL, change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, especially when working with vendors, ISPs, and cross-functional IT teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and handle high-priority network incidents.
• Experience in network design, implementation, migration, and infrastructure upgrades is preferred.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP or equivalent networking certification is preferred.
• Willingness to work on shifting schedules, weekends, holidays, and on-call support, when required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
• Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and security to ensure high reliability and minimal downtime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network connectivity, routing, switching, latency, packet loss, and performance issues.
• Manage and maintain LAN, WAN, Internet, MPLS/IPLC, SD-WAN, and VPN connectivity.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and static routing.
• Implement and maintain VLANs, trunking, STP, link aggregation, QoS, and network segmentation.
• Perform network configuration changes, upgrades, migrations, and optimization in accordance with change management and CAB processes.
• Coordinate with Internet Service Providers, vendors, data centers, cloud providers, and other IT teams for network-related incidents and projects.
• Lead investigation and resolution of critical network incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, IP address allocation, configurations, circuit information, and technical procedures.
• Implement network security controls, including firewall policies, access control, VPNs, network segmentation, and security best practices.
• Support and manage cloud networking environments, including connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Tencent Cloud.
• Conduct network capacity planning and recommend improvements based on traffic utilization, business requirements, and future growth.
• Lead network-related projects, including network expansion, infrastructure upgrades, ISP migration, redundancy implementation, and disaster recovery.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to Network Engineers and junior IT staff.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call or escalation support for critical network incidents when required.
• Prepare incident reports, technical assessments, and root cause analysis (RCA) for major network issues.
• Ensure network infrastructure complies with company policies, security standards, and operational requirements.
