The Developer designs and delivers customizations, scripts, workflows, and integrations that automate business processes and connect NetSuite to the broader financial application landscape, while providing hands‑on technical support for other finance systems such as expense management, AP automation, tax, banking, and reporting/BI tools. Working closely with Finance/Accounting stakeholders and alongside functional analysts, the Developer translates approved requirements and functional designs into reliable, well‑tested technical solutions. This is a hands‑on, build‑oriented role suited to a developer who enjoys solving problems in a fast paced, growing biotech/pharmaceutical environment, writes clean and maintainable code, follows sound change‑control and testing practices, and takes pride in system stability and data integrity. The position reports to the Senior Analyst, Corporate Applications, coordinates day‑to‑day with other resources in the region, and operates fully remotely, aligned to U.S. Pacific business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy NetSuite customizations using SuiteScript (1.0/2.x), SuiteFlow, SuiteBuilder, and custom records, forms, and fields.
- Build and maintain integrations between NetSuite and other financial and corporate systems using SuiteTalk (REST/SOAP web services), RESTlets, APIs, and middleware or iPaaS platforms (e.g., Celigo, Boomi, or MuleSoft).
- Develop and optimize saved searches, custom reports, dashboards, and scheduled scripts to support finance, operations, and management reporting needs.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for NetSuite and other financial applications (e.g., expense, AP automation, tax, banking, and reporting/BI tools), diagnosing root causes and delivering timely fixes.
- Partner with functional analysts and Finance/Accounting stakeholders to translate approved requirements and functional designs into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
- Follow structured development practices, including version control, code review, sandbox-to production promotion, and documented change control aligned to release management standards.
- Build and execute unit and integration test scripts; support user acceptance testing, defect triage, and post‑deployment validation.
- Monitor system performance, error logs, and scheduled/integration jobs; proactively identify and resolve failures, bottlenecks, and data quality issues.
- Support data migrations, mass updates, and imports using CSV import, scripting, and integration tools while safeguarding data integrity across systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, configuration notes, integration mappings, and runbooks.
- Manage NetSuite environments, including sandbox refresh coordination, feature releases, and evaluation of new SuiteApps and platform capabilities.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day with internal IT resources, external vendors, and implementation partners on projects, upgrades, and shared deliverables, tracking action items to closure.
- Identify opportunities for automation, technical debt reduction, and continuous improvement across the financial applications landscape.
