Job summary

Foodmax in Singapore is seeking a Senior Meat Sourcing & Procurement Specialist to own the self-operated meat category, sourcing directly from Singapore, Malaysia, China and other approved origins. You will build a resilient supply base, optimize costs, manage supplier relationships, and collaborate with Sales, Warehouse, Operations and Finance to align demand and inventory.

This role demands 8+ years in meat procurement with strong negotiation, regulatory knowledge including SFA, Halal, and

Qualifications

• At least 8 years hands-on experience in meat procurement or sourcing.
• 3+ years owning a category or managing key supplier relationships.
• Established meat supplier network in Singapore and other origins.
• Solid knowledge of meat import regulations, health certificates, Halal certification.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Malay is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the sourcing strategy for meat across beef, pork, poultry, lamb and processed meat.
• Own category assortment, price tiers, core SKUs and origin mix; manage targets.
• Lead product selection, sourcing, price benchmarking, negotiation, PO and payment terms.
• Build multi-origin supply with contingency plans to reduce risk and cost.
• Mentor junior buyers and implement SOPs; collaborate with Sales, Warehouse, Operations and Finance.
