Job summary

SMEC is seeking engineers for waterfront structural projects in the Philippines, delivering advanced analysis and design for jetties, piers, wharves and breakwaters. You will lead projects as EoR, ensure regulatory compliance and oversee lifecycle from concept to construction and decommissioning.

Role involves site reviews to verify construction against drawings, preparing technical proposals, managing scopes and budgets, and coordinating with coastal engineers, geologists, environmental teams

Responsibilities

• Structural Engineering & Analysis: Perform and review advanced structural calculations for waterfront assets such as jetties, piers, wharves, berthing/mooring dolphins, and breakwaters.
• Project Leadership: Act as the Engineer of Record (EoR), taking full regulatory and technical ownership over project lifecycles from conceptual engineering to construction and decommissioning.
• Site & Field Reviews: Conduct field inspections to assess structural integrity, verify that construction conforms to design drawings, and make high-level decisions on material or design deviations on-site.
• Project & Team Management: Author comprehensive technical proposals, manage project scopes, monitor budgets and schedules, and mentor junior-to-mid-level engineers.
• Multi-disciplinary Coordination: Collaborate closely with coastal engineers, geologists, environmental teams, and marine contractors to optimize constructability in subsea environments.
