Job summary

SMEC invites a seasoned Structural Engineer to join our Manila team. You will perform and review advanced structural calculations for waterfront assets such as jetties, piers, and breakwaters, ensuring design integrity from concept to construction.

As Engineer of Record, you will own regulatory and technical aspects, lead site reviews and mentor junior engineers, coordinating with coastal, geotechnical, environmental, and marine teams to optimize constructability.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review advanced structural calculations for waterfront assets such as jetties, piers, wharves, berthing/mooring dolphins, and breakwaters.
• Act as the Engineer of Record (EoR), taking full regulatory and technical ownership over project lifecycles from conceptual engineering to construction and decommissioning.
• Conduct field inspections to assess structural integrity, verify that construction conforms to design drawings, and make high-level decisions on material or design deviations on-site.
• Author comprehensive technical proposals, manage project scopes, monitor budgets and schedules, and mentor junior-to-mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate closely with coastal engineers, geologists, environmental teams, and marine contractors to optimize constructability in subsea environments.
