Job summary

The Senior Manager Food Data and Research at C40 will sit within the Research Team, collaborating with the Food Team to identify data needs and develop analysis that strengthens evidence for food- and climate-related actions. The role tracks cities’ progress toward commitments and communicates insights to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills for complex data-driven challenges.
• Proven experience using R or Python for dataset curation and analysis; advanced Excel capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing and quality assuring complex data sets.
• Expertise on food systems data and analytics, including city-wide data collection methods and database management.

Responsibilities

• Core food data management and analytics to support reporting and dashboards.
• Cross-organisational data integration across Climate Action Planning and Leadership Standards.
• Conduct primary research and day-to-day analytics using Excel, R, and/or Python; develop modelling tools.
• Provide city staff with data support, training and capacity building for baselines and targets.
• Oversee external consultants; manage timelines, scope and budgets.
• Translate quantitative findings into visuals and reports for donors and internal teams.
