Job summary

C40 is a global network of nearly 100 mayors tackling climate resilience. The Climate Resilience Manager will support the Resilient Urban Futures programme in Southeast Asia, focusing on Jakarta and Quezon City, with administrative and coordination duties under the Head of Implementation for ESEAO region.

This fixed-term 24-month role in Quezon City requires strong organisation, stakeholder engagement, and English communication.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical review support for RUF programme deliverables, and assist in managing consultants, as required.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative, coordination, and event support for the Resilient Urban Futures (RUF) programme, including scheduling, documentation, internal communications, and logistics for programme meetings, events, and activities, including coordination with cities/stakeholders/ embassies, knowledge product development and knowledge sharing events, technical workshops, and capacity-building delivery.
  • Organise and follow up on programme meetings, preparing agendas, taking notes, and tracking action items to completion.
  • Maintain and update programme and project management tools such as workplans, delivery trackers, and monitoring platforms to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Develop clear and well-formatted materials including slide decks, memos, and programme briefs.
  • Coordinate procurement and contracting processes in collaboration with Legal, Grants, and Finance teams.
  • Track financial and procurement data to support programme delivery, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the programme and delivery team as needed, such as workshop and event support.

Position title: Climate Resilience Manager
Department: Regions and Mayoral Engagement
Reporting to: Head of Implementation for East, Southeast Asia and Oceania (ESEAO)
Location: Quezon City, The Philippines - Please note that if your right to work in one of the listed locations is not confirmed at the time of applying, C40 will be unable to proceed with your application.
Salary: (Grade 4) PHP 1,263,408gross per annum - Due to its commitment to maintain equity and fairness, C40 operates on a spot salary model. This means that our employees are paid the same salary according to their grade and location.
Term: Fixed Term Contract – 24 months from the appointment date (possible extension subject to funding approval)

Department description

The Regions and Mayoral Engagement Team is one of the most diverse teams in C40, with staff members located in every region of the globe, representing C40 and coordinating with local cities on the ground. Key objectives of the C40 Regions and Mayoral Engagement team are regionally aligned delivery (ensuring city satisfaction and that C40 remains responsive and relevant to the needs of cities); political engagement (ensuring that C40 builds strong relations with mayors, city officials and regional entities); and effective operations (ensuring data-driven regional strategies and effective processes that support organization-wide delivery).

Resilient Urban Futures Programme

Resilient Urban Futures (RUF) is a programme funded by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs that strengthens climate resilience in cities across Africa and Southeast Asia. It helps cities tackle climate risks such as coastal and urban flooding, droughts, and extreme heat, while promoting nature-based solutions. The programme combines support for planning and implementing high-impact adaptation actions, building local capacity and partnerships, and raising ambition for long-term climate resilience.

Position description

The Climate Resilience Manager will provide critical administrative, coordination, and project support to the delivery of the Resilient Urban Futures (RUF) programme to two cities in Southeast Asia: Jakarta and Quezon City. This role will support the Head of Implementation and Climate Resilience Advisors in the ESEAO region in programme operations and delivery to ensure smooth implementation and high-quality engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

Person specification
  • Technical knowledge and experience in the areas of climate adaptation and resilience, preferably in the Southeast Asian setting
  • Experience providing administrative or project coordination support in a fast-paced, international or multi-stakeholder environment
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in tools such as Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
  • Detail-oriented and reliable, with a proactive and solution focused approach to work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience in workshop preparation and facilitation is preferred
  • Experience in managing consultants is preferred
  • Experience working with the government, non-governmental organizations, and/or the private sector with a focus on sustainable cities and/or climate change will be a strong advantage
  • International experience working across different cultures, languages, and time zones
Other Requirements
