Job summary

Salmon Group is a technology-driven financial company building a banking and lending platform across Southeast Asia, starting in the Philippines. We design APIs, integrations, and shared components powering multiple teams as we scale our core banking and partner platforms.

The role focuses on high-load systems, a modern JVM stack (Kotlin, Ktor, jOOQ), Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS, with ownership of architecture and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the JVM ecosystem with strong Kotlin/Java expertise.
• Deep understanding of concurrency and asynchronous programming.
• Experience designing systems with clean architectures (DDD) and event-driven approaches.
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems and their trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably in AWS.
• Willingness to work primarily in Kotlin.

Responsibilities

• Design, evolve, and scale core banking APIs for mobile and internal/external services.
• Build scalable backend services using Kotlin and modern JVM technologies.
• Develop public APIs, internal SDKs, and shared platform components used by other teams.
• Implement high-performance integrations with partners and third-party systems.
• Contribute to architecture, scalability, and reliability of core banking and partner platforms.
