The role emphasizes performance tuning, RCA, on‑call support, and production stability, with hands‑on exposure to Terraform, Helm, Ansible, Kubernetes, and ELK/EFK stacks.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
• At least 2 years of practical DevOps experience involving Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of Java multithreading, concurrency, JVM internals, garbage collection, and memory profiling.
• Proven experience troubleshooting distributed systems and resolving production performance issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Java backend microservices and APIs using Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
• Perform JVM performance tuning, including memory profiling, garbage collection optimization, thread dump analysis, and concurrency troubleshooting.
• Identify and resolve application performance bottlenecks, database query issues, memory leaks, out-of-memory errors, and high CPU utilization.
• Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to build, maintain, and optimize Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Manage application containerization, Kubernetes deployments, and production environment operations.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and deployment configurations using Terraform, Helm, or Ansible.
• Optimize workload scaling, resource utilization, application availability, and response times.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of production incidents and implement preventive measures to minimize recurring issues.
• Utilize centralized logging, distributed tracing, monitoring, and application performance monitoring tools to identify and resolve system issues.
• Establish performance baselines, configure proactive monitoring alerts, and support system reliability initiatives.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline improvements and collaborate on cloud-native architecture and deployment strategies.
• Provide production support through a structured on-call rotation for high-availability systems.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
• At least 2 years of practical DevOps experience involving Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of Java multithreading, concurrency, JVM internals, garbage collection, and memory profiling.
• Proven experience troubleshooting distributed systems and resolving production performance issues.
• Experience with relational databases and Redis, including query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Good knowledge of Linux environments and command-line operations.
• Familiarity with observability tools, application performance monitoring (APM), and ELK/EFK logging stacks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and ownership skills.
• Willingness to participate in on-call support.
• Willingness and ability to work on-site in Cebu, Philippines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Practical experience with KEDA or other event-driven autoscaling solutions.
• Experience with ClickHouse or other large-scale analytical databases (OLAP).
• Familiarity with cloud networking, service mesh technologies, or Container Network Interface (CNI).
• Experience designing or improving cloud-native infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Experience optimizing Kubernetes workloads and production systems for scalability, reliability, and performance.
