About the Role
We are looking for an Application Support Engineer - AWS & Automation to join our technology team and play a critical role in supporting business-critical applications, cloud environments, and automated processing workflows.
This role combines application support, AWS cloud operations, automation, scripting, incident management, and project delivery. You will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and availability of core applications, troubleshooting complex technical issues, supporting nightly processing cycles, and improving automated workflows.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS, automation/batch workflows, PowerShell, Windows environments, networking, and Tier 2+ technical support. Experience with LifePRO and EAS is not required, as training will be provided. However, hands-on experience with Automation Engine and AWS is highly preferred.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technical professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working across infrastructure and applications, and taking ownership of issues from initial investigation through resolution and root cause analysis.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, application owners, infrastructure teams, and external vendors to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Develop a strong understanding of application dependencies, system integrations, processing schedules, and operational requirements.
- Learn and support LifePRO and EAS as part of the onboarding and knowledge-development process; prior experience with these applications is not required.

- Where applicable, work with AWS automation services such as Lambda, Step Functions, and Systems Manager.
Automation & Batch Processing
- Design, configure, modify, and troubleshoot moderately complex automation workflows and batch processes.
- Develop and maintain workflow schedules, dependencies, processing sequences, and error-handling mechanisms.
- Analyze failed or delayed processing jobs and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Modify existing workflows and build new workflows based on business and technical requirements.
- Support nightly processing cycles, including after-hours incident response and resolution when required.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, reliability, operational efficiency, and processing performance.
PowerShell & Systems Administration
- Use PowerShell to troubleshoot, modify, and automate operational tasks.
- Develop simple PowerShell scripts from scratch and enhance existing scripts as needed.
- Support Windows server and workstation environments.
- Assist with patch management activities for Windows servers and/or workstations.
- Work with patch-management platforms such as Microsoft Intune, NinjaOne, or AWS Systems Manager, although experience with these specific tools is not required.
- Troubleshoot issues involving Active Directory, Group Policy, user access, permissions, and system configurations.
Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis
- Take ownership of technical incidents from investigation through resolution.
- Perform detailed troubleshooting and identify the underlying root cause of system and application incidents.
- Develop and implement appropriate remediation and preventive measures.
- Lead or facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) meetings with minimal assistance.
- Document incident findings, corrective actions, and recommendations for continual improvement.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend solutions to improve system stability and reduce future incidents.
Security & Infrastructure Support

- Work with IT and security teams to address technical risks and operational issues.
- Assist with vulnerability remediation for workstations and servers when required.
- Follow established security, configuration, access-control, and change-management standards.
