Job summary

DFI Technology (Philippines) is seeking a Senior Server Infrastructure Specialist to maintain servers, backup solutions, virtualization platforms, and storage systems. The role emphasizes implementing improvements, leading complex projects, and delivering reliable IT infrastructure for DFSC and Dairy Farm Group units.

The candidate should have extensive experience with Veeam, Cohesity, and CommVault, plus VMware/Nutanix/Proxmox, storage arrays, and Windows AD/DNS/DHCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer / Information Technology or relevant course
• At least 5 years of solid backup solutions experience (Veeam, Cohesity, CommVault); virtualization platforms (VMware, Nutanix, Proxmox); storage systems (HDS, HP 3PAR) and Windows system administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, NPS, CA)

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere/ESXi, Proxmox and Nutanix.
• Optimize VM provisioning, resource allocation, and performance tuning.
• Lead migration projects and ensure compliance with best practices.
• Design and implement enterprise backup strategies using Veeam, CommVault and Cohesity.
• Ensure disaster recovery readiness and compliance with RPO/RTO objectives.
• Automate backup workflows and validate recovery testing.

The challenge is to:

A Senior Server Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for maintaining servers, tools, operating system-related applications, and Backup Solutions such as Veeam, Cohesity, and CommVault. The role also covers Virtualization Platforms including VMware, Nutanix, and Proxmox; Storage Systems; and Microsoft services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NPS, CA, and other services under the IT infrastructure. In addition, the position involves initiating improvements and delivering major, complex tasks and projects within the agreed services between DFSC, The Dairy Farm Group, and its business units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere/ESXi, Proxmox and Nutanix.
• Optimize VM provisioning, resource allocation, and performance tuning.
• Lead migration projects and ensure compliance with best practices.

Backup & Recovery Solutions

• Design and implement enterprise backup strategies using Veeam, CommVault and Cohesity.
• Ensure disaster recovery readiness and compliance with RPO/RTO objectives.
• Automate backup workflows and validate recovery testing.
• Manage and administer HDS, HP 3PAR, and other enterprise-class storage arrays.
• Configure SAN infrastructure (e.g., Brocade, Cisco, HP 3PAR, HDS) for optimal performance.
• Monitor capacity, performance, and implement tiered storage strategies.

Technical Leadership

• Act as a trusted advisor for infrastructure projects.
• Provide escalation support for complex incidents.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Perform technical support, troubleshoot, and provide Root Cause Analysis on complex issues effectively and efficiently in line with the SLA required by the business.
• Provide emergency on-site support and coordination, and on-call support as required.
• Resolve and manage advanced to complex service requests in adherence with service level agreements.
• Monitor and review environments using tools, logs, and log analysis and respond to alerts by following procedures or escalating them.
• Review existing document procedures, records, and inventory.
• Review and define operating procedures used for day-to-day support, installation guides, housekeeping procedures, etc.
• Prepares complex and advanced monthly reports for service utilization and availability.
• Perform complex ad-hoc requests.
• Perform advanced to complex software installation and configuration
• Perform advanced to complex system and server administration and monitoring.
• Performs tuning to improve efficiency and to maximize the availability of server, storage, backup utility and process automation of software environments and the like.
• Creates scripts for monitoring and to automate administrative tasks.
• Provides improvement to any services under IT infrastructure.
• Ensure that information security policy is considered and always followed, recommends any changes to policy and approved policy changes are documented.
• Assist superiors and other engineers on other tasks and projects as needed.
• Train, KT and delegate tasks to trainees and associates.

Do you have experience as an Infrastructure Engineer?

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer / Information Technology or relevant course study
• Should have at least 5 years of solid Backup solutions like Veeam, Cohesity and CommVault; Virtualization Platform like VMware, Nutanix and Proxmox; Storage Systems like HDS, HP 3PAR; Windows System Administration of AD, DNS, DHCP, NPS, CA and the like
• Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting or administering cloud environments like Azure, AWS and GCP
• Knowledge of Graylog, Zabbix, and CheckMK is an advantage
• Knowledge of Qualys Vulnerability Remediations
• Knowledge in Automation or Scripting
• Certification of Microsoft Services, Backup, Virtualization and Storage is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English
• Highly analytical and able to resolve multiple priorities
• Strong attention to details
• Able to adapt to a fast-changing and multi-cultural environment
• A team player with a good sense of ownership and commitment
