Job summary

Hunt St Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior AutoCAD 2D Design Drafter based in the Philippines to deliver high-quality mechanical HVAC drawings for Australian clients. You will prepare and coordinate 2D drawings, support engineers, and ensure compliance with project standards while working remotely as an independent contractor.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, detailed drafting, and timely delivery, with flexibility in time management under AU business hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in AutoCAD drafting within building services and mechanical HVAC design.
• Strong proficiency in 2D AutoCAD drafting.
• Hands-on experience with Revit or BIM coordination.
• Solid understanding of mechanical building services systems (ductwork, plant layouts, ventilation, equipment coordination).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering mark-ups, sketches and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality drawings.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience in engineering consultancies or mechanical contracting environments.
• Understanding of Australian Standards for mechanical services (AS1668).
• Experience preparing tender and construction documentation.

Responsibilities

• Draft 2D AutoCAD drawings for mechanical services (air conditioning, ventilation, exhaust, plant rooms, ductwork).
• Produce concept, design development, and tender drawings.
• Prepare mechanical layouts, schematics, equipment schedules, and detail drawings.
• Update drawings with design changes and coordination feedback.
• Ensure drawings comply with drafting standards and codes.
• Provide drafting support to engineers during design and coordination processes.
• Assist in preparing design documentation packages and tender drawings.
• Convert sketches and mark-ups into clear drawings.
• Prepare equipment schedules, legends, and drawing registers.
• Coordinate drawings across architectural, structural, electrical, and hydraulic services.
• Conduct internal drafting reviews for accuracy and coordination.
• Maintain drawing set consistency and address issues with engineers.
