Hunt St is seeking a Philippines-based Facade Designer/Engineer engaged directly by the client as an Independent Contractor. The role focuses on leading window and facade system design, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, and delivering fabrication-ready documentation for Vertex projects.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in window and facade system design for commercial construction.
• Ability to lead a technical scope independently and own design outcomes.
• Advanced AutoCAD proficiency and detail drawings to professional standard.
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards for windows/facades (AS 2047, AS 1288, AS 4284, AS/NZS 1170).
• Fluent written/spoken English for client/video discussions.
• Willingness to travel to China to visit suppliers when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead window and facade system design across Vertex projects from concept to shop drawings.
• Produce and mark up detailed technical drawings in AutoCAD to professional standard.
• Ensure design compliance with Australian Standards (AS 2047, AS 1288, AS 4284, AS/NZS 1170).
• Interrogate architectural/structural docs and translate design intent into manufacturable systems.
• Coordinate and review supplier fabrication docs, resolve queries with Chinese manufacturers.
• Apply practical judgement on fabrication/installation to ensure buildable designs.
• Travel to China to visit suppliers, review samples and inspect fabrication when required.
• Lead technical discussions with clients and internal team via Teams with authority.
• Represent Vertex clearly in all project communications.
