Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead, develop, and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs. You will foster a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with regulations, while minimizing risks to employees, the environment, and company assets.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, NEBOSH Diploma or CSP/CRSP, and 12–15 years of progressive HSE leadership experience in multinational settings with greenfield

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Nationally recognized professional certification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, CSP, CRSP) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 12–15 years of progressive experience in an HSE management role, preferably within a multinational manufacturing, industrial, or technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s HSE management system.
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections with corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive HSE training programs for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Act as primary contact for regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with environmental permits and health & safety legislation.
• Manage environmental performance (waste, energy, emissions, water) and drive improvements.
• Establish and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and HR to integrate HSE into business processes.
• Prepare and present regular HSE performance reports to senior management.
• Stay updated on new HSE legislation and best practices.
