Job summary

Prince Retail Group is seeking a General Manager – FRESTA to lead the strategic and operational management of Fresh and Staple Products. You will drive growth and oversee pricing, promotions, and inventory across the portfolio.

You will lead a merchandising team, partner with stores and replenishment to ensure product availability, optimize assortment, and translate data into strategic actions for improved profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in retail merchandising.
• Strong experience handling Fresh and Staple Products, FMCG, grocery, or related retail categories.
• Proven experience in Category Management and Vendor Management.
• Strong knowledge of Assortment Planning, Pricing & Promotion Strategy, Inventory Management, Freshness / Merchandise Ageing Management, Retail Operations, Financial & Sales Analysis, Vendor Negotiation, and People Leadership.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data and market insights into business strategies.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive achievement of sales, profitability, inventory productivity, and merchandise performance targets.
• Develop and execute category strategies covering assortment, pricing, promotions, and product availability.
• Lead the strategic management of the Fresh and Staple Products categories.
• Analyze sales, profit, inventory, stock-to-sales ratio, GMROI, turnover, productivity, and merchandise ageing/freshness.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and principal suppliers, including commercial negotiations.
• Ensure customer-centric assortment and sourcing strategies.
• Partner closely with Replenishment and Store Operations to ensure product availability and effective execution.
• Oversee pricing, margin management, promotional programs, replenishment, and inventory movement.
• Identify opportunities to improve revenue, profitability, inventory productivity, and overall category performance.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing merchandising team.
