Job summary

Merck Group is seeking an experienced General Ledger Accounting Expert to ensure financial integrity and operational excellence within our Shared Services environment in Manila, Philippines. You will own the Month-End Close process, produce high-quality statements, and partner with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of GL experience, strong IFRS/GAAP knowledge, and hands-on ERP experience (Oracle and/or SAP).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Master's degree or CPA accreditation preferred.
8+ years of General Ledger accounting experience.
Experience in a Shared Services Center is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

Lead Month-End Close for complex entities with strict deadlines.
Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.
Perform balance sheet reviews, variance analysis, and provide actionable insights.
Manage high-complexity GL activities including accruals and payroll accounting.
Oversee reconciliation of high-risk accounts and ensure data integrity.
Support audit processes and ensure compliance with controls (SOX/ICFR).
Drive process optimization, automation, and ERP upgrades.
Mentor junior accountants and develop team capabilities.
