Job summary

Private Advertiser, a US-based client accounting and financial operations firm, is hiring a senior developer to build and maintain its client portal. The role is full-time independent contractor, remote from the Philippines, with overlap to US Eastern hours.

You will build features in the Go backend and the React/TypeScript frontend, and integrate QuickBooks Online and other client systems. You will write tests, review PRs, and help the platform scale for more clients.

We are a US-based client accounting and financial operations firm serving small and mid-sized businesses. We help our clients run efficiently and grow with confidence by providing the systems, expertise, processes, and oversight behind their finances, delivering accounting, payroll and HR, project accounting, and fractional CFO services.

What You'll Do

This is a full-time independent contractor role. Candidates must commit exclusively to this position and may not engage in other part-time or freelance work once hired.

We're hiring a senior developer to help build and maintain our client portal, the platform at the center of how we deliver our services. Our team and our clients both use the portal. It connects to the systems our clients already run their businesses on, including accounting platforms like QuickBooks Online, CRMs, and project management and other operating systems. It organizes their financial and project data, then turns that data into the reporting, workflows and tools behind our accounting, payroll and HR, project accounting, and advisory services.

The portal brings together:

Financial reporting and analytics: client dashboards and reports built on accounting, CRM and project data.

System integrations and data management: integrations and sync jobs that connect client accounting systems, CRMs and operating systems, keeping data accurate, consistent and stored in one place.

Contract management and invoicing: intake of contracts, change orders and budgets, plus project billing and month-end close for client contracts.

Financial forecasting: budgets, cash flow forecasts and budget-to-actual reporting.

Internal workflows: reviews, reconciliations and processes that cut manual work for our accounting team.

The portal is growing quickly. Planned work includes:

Dashboards that non-developers can set up to track KPIs and benchmarks.

Integrations with more client CRMs and operating systems, including time-tracking and resource-planning tools.

Approval workflows for contracts, change orders and invoices.

AI-assisted tools for tasks like catching anomalies and speeding up month-end close.

Working alongside another engineer and reporting to our CTO, you'll help shape how the platform grows across new clients, service lines and systems. In this role, you will:

Build features across the Go backend and the React/TypeScript frontend.

Build and maintain integrations with QuickBooks Online, CRMs, and other client systems, and the sync jobs that feed the reports.

Write and review PostgreSQL migrations and queries safely against live financial data.

Write tests (Go, Vitest, Playwright) and keep CI green.

Review teammates' pull requests.

What We're Looking For

Strong Go and PostgreSQL experience, including migrations and query performance.

Solid React and TypeScript.

Comfort with financial data where correctness matters: billing, invoices, and accounting reports.

Experience with third-party APIs and background jobs.

Clear written communication in pull requests and Slack, and overlap with US Eastern hours.

Nice to Have

QuickBooks Online API, AWS (ECS), Supabase, and Cloudflare.
