Job summary

SMEC (an SJ Group company) seeks a seasoned full-stack software engineer in the Philippines to deliver features for in-house apps, maintain systems, and own integrations with external data sources. You will work across frontend (Angular/React TS) and backend (Laravel, Python) with REST APIs, JWT/OAuth security, and a data-driven reporting layer.

The role requires 5+ years in software development and 3+ years full-stack production experience, plus Docker, Redis, and CI/CD familiarity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in full-stack development across frontend and backend
• Strong knowledge of Angular or React with TypeScript
• Experience with Laravel PHP8 and Python APIs
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JWT/OAuth, and data security
• SQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and Redis caching
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD workflows
• Work on multi-service projects and distributed architectures
• Ability to implement and review code, with documentation

Responsibilities

• Deliver new features for in-house applications to meet project and client requirements
• Maintain and extend existing applications as requirements change
• Own integrations with external systems and data sources with retry and error logging
• Convert incoming data files into structured form for reporting
• Design and maintain data storage for consolidated reporting
• Ensure performance with large datasets and robust error handling
• Manage releases to keep live apps tested, auditable, and reversible
• Investigate and resolve user-reported faults across apps and data pipelines
