Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Façade Designer / Skilled Drafter to support our Australian client's residential, hotel, and commercial construction projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate façade design and construction documentation, interpreting engineering design requirements, and producing detailed, fully annotated drawings across multiple façade systems.
This role requires strong technical drafting skills, practical knowledge of various cladding and framing systems, and the ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with the Australian project team.
Prepare and revise façade design drawings, elevations, sections, and fully annotated details, including head, sill, jamb, and stack joints, using AutoCAD and ARES Commander.
Develop technical drawings and documentation for multiple façade systems, including:
Unitised, semi-unitised and stick curtain wall systems.
Lightweight steel framing and associated components.
Hebel/AAC, fibre-cement, aluminium composite, stone/Frontek, GFRC and terracotta cladding.
Render systems, balustrades, louvres, canopies, skylights, fins, awnings and soffits.
Interpret façade engineering design intent and incorporate design changes, revisions and variations into drawing packages.
Review and update window schedules, enlarged plans, elevations, sections and façade details.
Identify and promptly communicate design coordination issues, potential construction clashes and fixing or anchorage concerns.
Prepare quantity take-offs, material schedules and drawing registers as required.
Maintain accurate drawing documentation, naming conventions, revision control and shared project files.
Coordinate with the Project Director, architects, engineers and construction teams to resolve drawing comments and technical queries.
Complete agreed daily and weekly drawing targets and communicate potential delays or technical issues as soon as they arise.
Submit daily progress reports, time-tracking records and updated drawing files before the end of each Sydney working day.
Complete at least 95% of assigned daily and weekly drawing targets within the agreed deadlines.
Maintain a minimum of 95% drawing accuracy, ensuring all drawings meet project specifications and quality standards.
Achieve at least 95% on-time delivery of assigned drafting tasks and project milestones.
Submit daily progress reports on 100% of working days before the end of the Sydney workday.
Maintain 100% accurate time-tracking records in 15-minute increments against the relevant project and variation references.
Ensure 100% of required updated CAD files and PDF drawings are uploaded to the shared drive daily.
Acknowledge at least 95% of project-related communications within one working hour during Sydney business hours.
Escalate 100% of identified technical issues, project blockers, and potential delays within the same working day.
Achieve 100% compliance with drawing standards, documentation requirements, file naming conventions and revision control procedures.
Complete 100% of scheduled onboarding assessments and performance reviews at the 30-, 60-, and 90-day milestones.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on façade detailing and drafting experience on mid-rise and high-rise residential, hotel, or commercial projects.
A degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Civil/Structural Engineering, or equivalent.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in ARES Commander or demonstrated ability to transition between CAD platforms.
Proven experience in at least TWO façade systems beyond glazing or curtain wall, such as Hebel/AAC, fibre-cement cladding on steel framing, stone/Frontek, or aluminium composite systems.
A portfolio of fully annotated façade details and drawing sets demonstrating relevant technical experience, submitted during the application stage.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to interpret engineering instructions accurately and work with minimal supervision after onboarding.
Must be based in the Philippines, with a reliable internet connection and a dedicated remote workspace.
Must be available to work Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM Sydney time.
Must successfully pass a practical CAD assessment and professional reference checks before receiving an employment offer.
