Job summary

Meralco PowerGen (MGEN) is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to provide expert legal analysis and strategic advice on complex regulatory matters affecting power generation projects and operations. The role leads regulatory research, prepares opinions, and represents MGEN in regulatory proceedings.

Qualifications

LLB from a reputable university with bar in good standing.
8–10 years of extensive legal practice focusing on energy law or public utility regulatory affairs.
Proven track record leading ERC or similar regulatory proceedings.
Experience as in-house counsel in energy sector preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide expert regulatory legal advice to senior management and departments.
Lead regulatory proceedings, hearings, and public consultations before ERC and tribunals.
Draft and review complex pleadings, position papers, and submissions.
Conduct in-depth legal research on energy laws, precedents, and regulatory trends.
Collaborate with Commercial, Operations, Project Development, and Finance teams.
