We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who will provide technical leadership and expertise in the planning, execution, inspection, testing, commissioning, and completion of electrical works for construction projects.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will ensure that electrical installations are executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, applicable standards, safety requirements, quality standards, and project schedules. The position will work closely with the Project Manager, Project Superintendent, trade contractors, consultants, clients, and other project stakeholders to resolve technical concerns and ensure successful project delivery.
Review and study the electrical scope of work, plans, specifications, and project requirements.
Provide technical direction and solutions for electrical engineering and construction-related issues.
Review electrical designs, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documents for compliance with project requirements.
Prepare and monitor electrical work schedules in coordination with the overall project schedule.
Coordinate electrical activities from construction through pre-commissioning, testing, commissioning, and project turnover.
Ensure electrical installations are completed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, codes, standards, and quality requirements.
Conduct regular site inspections and monitor the progress and quality of electrical works.
Identify potential technical issues and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Review electrical quantities, accomplishments, and work progress of trade contractors.
Monitor the installation and testing of electrical systems and equipment.
Ensure electrical systems are properly installed, tested, and ready for commissioning.
Provide technical support during testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and turnover activities.
Review electrical load requirements and coordinate with the Project Manager/Project Superintendent regarding project power requirements and electrical consumption.
Coordinate with EHS/Safety personnel to ensure safe execution of electrical works.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and trade contractors to prevent conflicts and ensure proper sequencing of works.
Provide technical support for power distribution systems, electrical equipment, lighting and power systems, grounding and other electrical installations.
Review and monitor FDAS, auxiliary systems, CCTV, and other related systems as applicable to the project.
Conduct or assist in electrical testing and inspection using appropriate testing instruments and equipment.
Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, and technical documents.
Assist in troubleshooting electrical systems and recommend practical and technically sound solutions.
Monitor compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and project specifications.
Coordinate effectively with Project Managers, Project Superintendents, consultants, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
Attend project coordination meetings, technical meetings, site inspections, walkthroughs, and other project activities as required.
Provide timely technical updates and recommendations to project management.
Communicate project concerns, risks, and requirements clearly to concerned stakeholders.
Assist in evaluating technical proposals, vendor requirements, and electrical equipment specifications.
Provide guidance and technical assistance to junior engineers and electrical personnel when required.
Review and ensure accuracy and completeness of electrical reports and project documentation.
Prepare and/or review electrical inspection reports, testing and commissioning reports, accomplishment reports, and other required technical documentation.
Ensure proper documentation and filing of electrical project records.
Monitor submission and completion of required technical documents for project turnover.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, testing, commissioning, and corrective actions.
Ensure implementation of the company's quality management policies and procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
Ensure electrical works comply with approved quality standards and project specifications.
Coordinate with safety personnel to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health requirements.
Promote safe work practices and immediately address identified electrical safety concerns.
Participate in site audits, quality inspections, safety meetings, and other compliance activities.
Recommend improvements to electrical construction processes, procedures, and practices.
Keep updated on electrical engineering standards, technologies, equipment, and construction practices.
Identify opportunities to improve project execution, productivity, quality, and safety.
Participate in technical training, seminars, workshops, product demonstrations, and professional development activities.
Share technical knowledge and best practices with the Operations team.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Must be a Licensed Electrical Engineer (Registered Professional Electrical Engineer / PEE or Registered Master Electrician as applicable to the role and legal requirements).
Valid professional license and good standing with the appropriate Philippine regulatory authority.
At least five (5) years of relevant work experience in electrical engineering and construction, preferably with experience in commercial, industrial, building, or major construction projects.
Strong experience in electrical installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, and project coordination.
Experience working with electrical subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients is highly preferred.
Experience in project-based construction environments is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of electrical construction works, power distribution, electrical systems, and equipment.
Knowledge of electrical testing tools and equipment, including insulation resistance testers/megger testers and other relevant instruments.
Knowledge of FDAS, auxiliary systems, CCTV, and related systems.
Proficient in AutoCAD/CADD and able to interpret electrical drawings and plans.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and related project documentation tools.
Knowledge of applicable Philippine electrical codes, standards, safety requirements, and construction practices.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System is an advantage.
