Job summary

Manulife MBPS seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to join the Information Systems – Platform-as-a-Service team. You will build, support, and automate Data and Analytics platforms, creating cloud automation workflows, provisioning resources, and ensuring secure, scalable operations.

The role requires 5+ years leading complex implementations, strong Azure IaaS/PaaS and ITSM experience, and proficiency with Terraform, Python, and PowerShell.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in leading large implementations of related technologies
• Hands-on expertise on Azure Cloud IaaS and PaaS & IT Service Management (Incident, Change, Request)
• Expertise in IaC programming such as Terraform, Python, PowerShell for infrastructure automation
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and repositories management (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
• Knowledge of infrastructure services provisioning, security concepts, and data/analytics platform support
• Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls)
• Willingness to work at UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City) and in a hybrid setup (3x onsite)
• Willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule

Responsibilities

• Automate platform maintenance, updates, security enhancements, and administrative tasks
• Support cloud provisioning and configuration management; assist architecture team with data/analytics landscapes
• Improve monitoring and logging; standardize runbooks for 24/7 monitoring

Job description

We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Information Systems – Platform-as-a-Service team at MBPS. In this role, you are expected to build, handle, and support Data and Analytics platforms.

Position Responsibilities

• Develop and build the cloud automation workflow and support the cloud blueprint. Automate (python or other relevant coding) platform maintenance, updates, security enhancements and other administrative tasks. Deliver business cloud solution by implementing the cloud resources (provisioning, hardening, etc.)
• Support hands-on cloud platform provisioning and configuration management coding development, deployment. Support the architecture team to support their design and configure the data and analytics landscapes.
• Continuously improve the monitoring and logging engineering for cloud area and enable the end-to-end monitoring and dashboard reporting. Standardize the runbook by automating the standard BAU tasks.
• Create, maintain the operational/user documentation for engineering product/solution. Build coding for platform automation and scripting for the runbook to 7x24 support and monitoring teams.
• Conduct new cloud platform testing, runbook, and packing as cloud service offering to business users. Plan and implement vital controls/activities for infrastructure and platform changes. Assist to plan, implement, and review the capacity planning (any limits) for resources and report/recommend to management if required.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in leading a large implementation of related technologies
• Hands-on expertise on Azure Cloud IaaS and PaaS & IT Service Management (Incident, Change, Request)
• Expertise on all DevOps tools set and IaC programming such as Terraform, Python, PowerShell for infrastructure automation management
• Proven experience on common CI/CD pipeline, repositories management such as GitHub actions, Jenkins, etc.
• Knowledge on infrastructure services provisioning, security concepts, standard methodologies on the IaaS and PaaS models to support data and analytic solutions built.
• Understanding of networking infrastructure and network fixing (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, DHCP, Load balancing, Replication, SSH)
• Amenable to work UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City)
• Amenable to work on a hybrid set-up (3x a week onsite)
• Amenable to work on a rotating shift schedule

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL & Azure Certifications
• Experience in Agile
• Microsoft Certifications (MCTS, MCITP, MCSA, MCSE)
• Passion in adopting and testing the cloud and new IT technology
• Good collaborative attitude, willingness to work and share knowledge/information with team members
• Solid understanding of project scheduling and task driven project work
• Strong communication and technical skills, prior experience with mentoring teams and working in a process driven environment.
