Job summary

Manulife IT Delivery Center Asia Inc. is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable cloud platforms. You will partner with engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable, and efficient cloud solutions, focusing on automation, API development, and infrastructure as code.

The role requires 8+ years in cloud engineering with Azure, AKS, Terraform, and Unix/Linux expertise, plus strong collaboration and communication skills to influence stakeholders across disciplines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT experience in cloud engineering and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, AKS, and Terraform.
• Strong Unix/Linux knowledge.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile practices.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and cloud-native apps.
• Familiarity with API Gateways, Messaging, Event Streaming, and Distributed Tracing.
• Strong communication to influence stakeholders.

• Design, develop, and implement cloud-based applications and infrastructure solutions.
• Build and maintain cloud environments that align with security and operational standards.
• Automate and orchestrate cloud platforms using modern DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Develop and maintain APIs, web services, and integration solutions across enterprise platforms.
• Support application deployment, troubleshooting, testing, and continuous integration activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments to drive rapid delivery and innovation.
• Research and implement emerging technologies to improve platform performance and engineering efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of IT experience, including cloud engineering and distributed systems design.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes (AKS), and Terraform.
• Solid knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile software development practices.
• Hands‑on experience building and integrating RESTful APIs, web services, and cloud‑native applications.
• Familiarity with modern platform technologies including API Gateways, Messaging, Event Streaming, Distributed Tracing, SQL, and Document Databases
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with public, private, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Kubernetes and/or HashiCorp certifications.
• Experience delivering enterprise‑scale PaaS solutions, particularly using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code, Desired State Configuration, and cloud platform automation
