Job summary

Manulife invites a Associate Platform Engineer to design, automate, and support cloud-based platform infrastructure enabling scalable, secure applications. You will implement DevOps best practices, and collaborate with engineers, architects and business stakeholders across APAC to deliver reliable platform capabilities.

In this role you will enhance CI/CD pipelines, create automation scripts, and maintain platform health with monitoring tools while aligning with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a DevOps Engineer role (or similar role).
• Experienced in CI/CD pipeline management platforms (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, Groovy, Bash).
• More than two years of experience in a DevOps Engineer role (or similar role).
• Fundamental knowledge of Cloud (AliCloud, Azure, AWS).
• Fundamental knowledge of Linux administration.
• Fundamental knowledge of software development life cycle.
• Fundamental knowledge of container technology.
• Fluent English in both oral and writing is a must.

Responsibilities

• CI/CD automation, enhancing delivery capabilities, bridging development and deployment.
• Familiar with code governance, release management, artifact management and SDLC integration toolchain.
• Enhance existing CI/CD pipelines and build new pipelines to support development teams.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using Groovy, Java and NodeJS on Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.
• Build tools/automation scripts to enrich CI/CD capabilities; AI usage recommended.
• Be familiar with modern programming language build frameworks/toolkits (npm, angular, maven, gradle, poetry).
• Maintain DevOps platform infrastructure including VM, DB, Kubernetes, Macbook.
• Use enterprise monitoring tools to keep DevOps platform healthy and prevent incidents.
• Communicate with APAC stakeholders to ensure pipelines follow enterprise standards.

Job description

The Associate Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, building, automating, and supporting cloud-based platforms and infrastructure that enable development teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure applications. The role works closely with software engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to create platform capabilities, implement DevOps best practices, and improve operational efficiency.

Position Responsibilities

• You are responsible for CI/CD automation, enhancing delivery capabilities, filling the gap between development & deployment.
• You need to be familiar with code governance & release management & artifact management & integration toolchain in SDLC.
• You need to provide enhancements to existing CI/CD pipelines and build new CI/CD pipelines to support development teams if needed.
• You need to be familiar with Groovy, Java and NodeJS programing to support CI/CD pipelines running on various platforms. E.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
• You need to build tools/automation scripts to enrich the CI/CD platform's capabilities/features. Using AI capabilities are recommended.
• You need to be familiar with modern programing language build frameworks/toolkits to support CI/CD in SDLC. e.g. npm, angular, maven, gradle, poetry.
• You need to maintain DevOps platform infrastructure including VM, DB, Kubernetes, Macbook.
• You need to use enterprise proved monitoring toolsets to ensure DevOps platform is in a healthy state and prevent potential production incidents.
• You need to communicate with stakeholders across APAC region. Analyze the project team and security team requirements, ensure all CI/CD pipelines and automations are following the enterprise standards.
