Job summary

SMEC (An SJ Group Company) in the Philippines seeks a Deputy Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams on major infrastructure studies and detailed design. You will coordinate bridge, highway, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines, ensuring alignment with DPWH and international standards.

Responsibilities include QA/QC, DED preparation, stakeholder engagement with DPWH/ADB, and risk management to ensure timely delivery. A 15+ year background in large-scale projects is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required).
• Registered Civil Engineer (required).
• 15+ years of professional experience in infrastructure projects (required).
• Significant experience in bridge and transportation projects (required).
• Experience in feasibility studies and detailed engineering design (required).
• Experience in donor-funded projects (ADB, World Bank, JICA, etc.).
• Demonstrated capability in managing multidisciplinary teams (required).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in overall planning, management, and execution of the DED.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering disciplines.
• Monitor project schedules, resources, and QA/QC procedures.
• Review technical designs, reports, and calculations for compliance with standards.
• Facilitate coordination with DPWH, ADB, LGUs, and other stakeholders.
• Support preparation and review of DED documentation and procurement inputs.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
