Job summary

Xideral is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join exciting projects remotely from Mexico. You will translate business challenges into data science and ML solutions, design and deploy models, and collaborate with ML and Data Engineers to deliver production-ready systems.

The role requires 5+ years in data science, expert Python, strong SQL/PySpark, and experience with Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, and TensorFlow or PyTorch. Advanced English and remote Mexico work are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Physics, CS or related field.
• Fluent in English (Advanced) B2 - C2.
• 5+ years in Data Science, Statistical Analysis, or Applied Research.
• Expert-level Python.
• Strong experience with Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, Pandas, Polars, Statsmodels, SciPy.
• Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Advanced SQL and PySpark.
• Cloud storage experience (GCS or Azure Blob).
• Strong understanding of Experimental Design, Hypothesis Testing, Causal Inference, Model Validation.
• Professional experience with Git.
• Experience with MLflow or similar tools.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex business challenges into data science and ML solutions.
• Design, develop, validate, and deploy statistical models.
• Work with large-scale datasets using Python, SQL, PySpark.
• Collaborate with ML Engineers and Data Engineers to deliver production-ready solutions.
• Apply rigorous statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and causal inference.
• Document models, assumptions, limitations, and experiment results.
• Develop modular, maintainable, and reproducible Python code.
