Job summary

Philip Morris International is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join PMI Global Business Solutions in a hybrid Manila-based role. You will design, build, and optimize data pipelines, ensuring data quality and timely delivery across enterprise platforms.

The role requires 3+ years with modern data stacks, SQL proficiency, and experience with AI-ready workloads using LLMs for automated analytics and insights. Collaborate globally to enable data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Graduated in (Business) Informatics, IT, computer science or a related field.
• Not less than 3 years of proven experience with Snowflake, Matillion, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins or Git.
• Highly proficient in SQL and an additional programming language such as PowerShell or Python.
• Solid experience on technical and functional designs for Databases, Data Warehousing, Reporting, and Data Mining areas.
• Deep understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data ingestion, and data transformation frameworks
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts including dimensional modeling and schema design
• Ideal candidates are AI-Ready: Strong understanding of LLMs with proven experience applying them to enhance workflows and outcomes
• Innovative Application: Skilled in leveraging LLMs for data-driven solutions, automation, or advanced analytics

Who we are looking for

You will bring

• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including Agile delivery, coding standards, code reviews, source control, automated testing, CI/CD, and operational excellence.
• Proven experience building and enabling Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics solutions through scalable data ingestion, transformation, metadata management, and feature engineering frameworks. Experience developing, training, deploying, and monitoring machine learning models that solve real business challenges.
• Demonstrated ability to design and automate reliable data pipelines and operational processes that deliver high-quality, timely, and trusted data while meeting defined service levels and business expectations.
• Solid understanding of modern data platforms, cloud-based data infrastructure, and data services, including data storage, processing, orchestration, and governance concepts.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable data solutions, clearly communicating data architecture, modeling decisions, engineering approaches, and technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Experience collaborating effectively with geographically distributed teams, building strong partnerships across engineering, analytics, product, and business functions in a global environment.

Work Schedule and Location

• Generally, Mondays to Fridays, on a hybrid work arrangement
• Based in 8 Rockwell, Makati Head Office
