Satellite Office is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to own internal reporting and analytics. The role focuses on turning data into insights, building reliable reporting, and understanding the story behind the numbers.

You will work with stakeholders to design dashboards, models, and data pipelines, and explore AI/automation to improve efficiency. You will collaborate with business leaders to understand requirements, ensure data quality, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of experience in data analytics, BI or related field.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction, wrangling and validation.
• Hands-on Power BI experience with dashboards and DAX.

Job description

Satellite Office is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to take ownership of our internal reporting and analytics capability.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys analysing data, solving problems, building reliable reporting, and understanding the story behind the numbers. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders to turn data into meaningful insights — not simply produce reports and dashboards.

You’ll also have the opportunity to explore AI and automation as part of your day-to-day work. We’re looking for someone who is curious, willing to experiment with new tools, and comfortable learning as they go.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports

• Use SQL to extract, transform, reconcile and validate data

• Build and maintain effective data models for reliable, reusable reporting

• Bring together data from multiple internal systems and ensure consistency and accuracy

• Work closely with business leaders and data owners to understand reporting requirements

• Analyse data and translate findings into clear business insights and recommendations

• Improve reporting processes, data quality and refresh reliability

• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive reporting and data workflows

• Explore and use AI tools such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot to improve data analysis and efficiency

• Validate AI-generated outputs and ensure insights are accurate before sharing with stakeholders

• Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Maintain appropriate data governance, security and quality standards

What we’re looking for

The three key technical skills we’re looking for are:

1. Strong SQL
You should be comfortable working with data, writing queries, joining datasets, aggregating information and validating results.

2. Strong Power BI
You should have hands‑on experience building dashboards, working with DAX and presenting data in a clear and meaningful way.

3. Strong Data Modelling
You should understand how to structure and model data effectively to support reliable reporting and analysis.

Beyond these core skills, we're looking for someone who:

• Has 5–7+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence or a related field

• Can work across multiple data sources and systems

• Goes beyond reporting numbers and can identify what the data actually means for the business

• Is comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities

• Has strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Is naturally curious and enjoys investigating problems

• Is comfortable using AI tools to support analysis and improve efficiency

• Is willing to learn new technologies and tools as the role evolves

Nice to have

Experience with any of the following would be an advantage, but is not required:

• Microsoft Fabric

• Dataverse

• Power Automate

• N8N or other workflow automation tools

• Claude, Microsoft Copilot or other AI tools

• Microsoft Power BI certifications
