Job summary

Control Union Philippines Inc. is seeking an experienced surveyor/inspector to lead cargo inspection operations at port facilities. The role includes supervising surveyors, coordinating with clients, and ensuring adherence to procedures and reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate has a maritime/foreign trade or engineering background with 2–5 years of field experience, GAFTA/FOSFA knowledge, and ISO standards familiarity. Proficiency in English and MS Office is essential.

Qualifications

College degree in Maritime/Foreign Trade/Engineering or related field.
2–5 years’ experience as a surveyor/inspector in commodity inspection.
Able to perform and interpret Draft Surveys for bulk and liquid commodities.
Knowledge of inspection services and port operations.
Strong shipping/logistics knowledge.
Experience with commodities such as soy meal, rice, wheat, corn, molasses, coconut oil.
GAFTA and FOSFA sampling knowledge.
ISO9001 and/or ISO17020 knowledge; fluent in English.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Inspect truck/container weights on weighbridges.
Sample cargo on vessels or warehouses.
Supervise warehouse stock, recording all in/out movements.
Check cargo condition and report to shift leader.
Perform cargo hold inspection, draft survey, tank sounding, and sampling per orders.
Inspect warehouses, tanks, containers, and factories and report.
Perform cargo condition inspection, quantity measurement, and quality assessment.
Supervise daily inspection work of surveyors and ensure compliance with procedures.
Prepare daily loading, discharge, and warehouse quantity reports.
Coach new inspectors and freelancers.
