SimCorp Philippines, Inc. is seeking a technically strong FinOps owner to optimize Azure costs and drive cost efficiency across compute, storage and services.
You will sit between engineering and finance, shape price-to-performance decisions, and build automation that keeps cost honest at scale. This role emphasizes automation, reporting with Power BI, and cost governance for AI workloads, with hybrid/APAC-friendly hours and collaboration with DevOps.
Join some of the most innovative thinkers in FinTech as we lead the evolution of financial technology. If you are an innovative, curious, collaborative person who embraces challenges and wants to grow, learn and pursue outcomes with our prestigious financial clients, say Hello to SimCorp!
At its foundation, SimCorp is guided by our values — caring, customer success-driven, collaborative, curious, and courageous. Our people-centered organization focuses on skills development, relationship building, and client success. We take pride in cultivating an environment where all team members can grow, feel heard, valued, and empowered.

Two years ago, 31% of FinOps teams touched AI spend. Today it's 98%. Cloud and AI cost has become one of the sharpest levers in our business — and we want a deeply technical owner for it.
You combine technical depth with a focus on cost savings and business value, rather than diagramming systems. Sitting between engineering and finance, you'll own how efficiently SimCorp runs on Azure — challenging design choices, killing waste, and building the automation that keeps cost honest. This is an engineering role, not a reporting one.
You'll get real autonomy: a direct line to leadership and the mandate to make the call, so your recommendations won't die in a committee. And you'll do it at a scale that matters — mission-critical software for many of the world's largest investment managers, so getting cost right genuinely moves the needle. This is greenfield work: you'll define what next-generation, automation-first FinOps looks like here, rather than maintaining a legacy process.
Optimization: right-sizing compute families and SKUs, removing orphaned resources, shaping commitment strategy, and working with architects on price-to-performance trade-offs across Compute, Service Bus, Storage (NetApp, SILK), and Exadata@Azure.
Automation & insight: building the Power BI / FinOps-toolkit reporting and automated anomaly detection so cost monitoring runs itself rather than as a daily manual chore. DAX welcome.
Shift-left: leading technical dialogue with DevOps teams so they design for cost-efficiency before infrastructure is provisioned.
AI cost governance: bringing cost per token, model and inference under management as our AI-agent workloads scale.
Forecasting & evergreening: owning the models finance relies on; turning spend from a monthly surprise into a defensible plan and continuously aging out inefficient services for more cost-effective options.
Extensive Azure cost and infrastructure expertise — you can interpret an architecture diagram and a cost report with equal ease.
Fluency with cloud billing data, the FOCUS specification, and the SQL/Python (or DAX) to work with it directly.
Demonstrated experience generating measurable cost savings and the confidence to question senior engineers’ decisions.
Commercial instinct — you connect technical decisions to margin and business value — plus a bias for ownership and comfort with ambiguity.
Desired experience includes FinOps Certified Practitioner credentials, Terraform, or direct experience with AI/ML workload cost management.
